SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA / RankWire.AI / – During its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London, Samsung Electronics introduced its eighth-generation foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8. The South Korean tech giant refreshed their physical designs, upgraded camera systems, and integrated AI features across all three models. This launch marks the debut of an Ultra tier within the foldable lineup, offering enterprise users an ultra-slim form factor measuring 4.1 millimeters when unfolded and weighing 215 grams.

The standard Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 features a newly designed form factor weighing 201 grams, making it the lightest book-style foldable smartphone in the company’s history. It sports a 10:16 cover screen aspect ratio and a 4:3 main screen aspect ratio, allowing it to adapt seamlessly to various content types for browsing, reading, and video watching. Both displays use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and reach up to 3,000 nits peak brightness thanks to Vision Booster technology. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and equipped with a 4,800 mAh battery.

To enhance structural durability while slimming down physical dimensions, Samsung developed its proprietary Flex Titanium display structure for its premium foldables. This architecture combines a titanium-alloy film with an underlying titanium support plate to absorb impact, distribute mechanical tension evenly, and reduce visible creasing over many folding cycles. Additionally, hinge balance, magnetic force adjustments, and display panel tension were recalibrated to enable smoother opening actions. The device’s outdoor visibility is supported by a low-reflection finish designed to preserve color vibrancy even in bright ambient conditions.

    Enhanced Hardware for Productivity

The high-end Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra expands its display area with an 8.0-inch QXGA+ main screen alongside a 6.5-inch cover display. Built for multitasking and media creation at high volume levels, it boasts a 200-megapixel primary sensor featuring High Dynamic Range (HDR), complemented by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto module. For professional mobile video recording workflows, it supports capturing in 8K resolution using the APV video codec combined with Cine LUT color management tools for advanced editing.

Inside the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra lies an improved graphite cooling structure designed for better thermal management during demanding tasks. Its power comes from a dual-cell battery of 5,000 mAh supported by a fast-charging system that delivers up to 45W through dual paths for efficient power distribution across both cells. Users can choose configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of storage capacity operating on One UI 9 based on Android 17.

Smart Software Features and Launch Details

Alongside these larger devices, Samsung announced the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip8 which measures just 6.1 millimeters thick when unfolded and weighs around 180 grams. It features a compact design with a 4.1-inch Super Share. Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email
