SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia plans to commence direct flights connecting Sharjah International Airport with Amman City Airport starting on November 15, 2026. Operating four times weekly, this addition broadens the airline’s route network between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia operates flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, which serves Jordan’s capital, providing passengers with a second airport option in Amman via the airline’s Sharjah network and enhancing its scheduled Jordanian services.

The new service will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with flight G9 169 departing Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arriving in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return flight, G9 170, will leave Amman at 11:20 a.m. and arrive in Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Bookings are now available through Air Arabia’s website, call center, and travel agencies.
This addition strengthens Air Arabia Group’s existing Jordan routes, which currently include flights from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport, along with flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new Sharjah route will extend the group’s connections to Amman City Airport from another UAE departure point while maintaining its current services within Jordan.
Air Arabia broadens access to two Amman airports
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, highlighted that the new route offers travelers a second airport option in Jordan’s capital, enhancing convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between the UAE and Jordan. The airline announced the Sharjah route on October 8, more than a month ahead of its scheduled November start, and it will operate alongside existing Sharjah flights to Queen Alia International Airport.
Earlier this year, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched its own service to Amman City Airport, commencing on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. This route, which also serves Queen Alia International Airport, provides two options for travelers from the UAE capital. In April, Air Arabia stated that the two Abu Dhabi routes together offered 10 weekly flights to Amman at the time the second airport service was introduced.
Sharjah route adds four weekly Jordan flights
Using flight numbers G9 169 and G9 170, the new Sharjah service will operate four times per week on a fixed schedule. Air Arabia’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are used across its broader network. Customers can also enjoy SkyTime streaming, SkyCafe onboard menu, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Bookings for the Amman City Airport flights are now open via the airline’s sales channels ahead of the November 15 launch.
This expansion enhances Air Arabia Group’s Jordan connectivity through its hubs in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Alexandria. From Sharjah, passengers will have direct flights to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Meanwhile, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi also serves both airports from its base, and Alexandria provides a direct route to Amman City Airport. The upcoming November launch will add four scheduled weekly flights between Sharjah and Jordan’s capital, further expanding the group’s regional network.
